Crockpot Meatloaf 8/23/09

So awhile back I decided that every Sunday I would make dinner in the crockpot. That way I can either get it started before church and keep it cooking while we are at church or start it right after and let it cook. Gives me a lot less to do on Sundays with minimal effort. I got a lot of my ideas from this blog. The lady who runs this decided to make something in her crockpot every day for a year so it has a lot of creative ideas. So Last night I made meat loaf in it. Yes that's right meatloaf! I would definatly do it again but I think I would vamp the recipe a bit to match our tastes.
All done in the crock pot.
our potatoes. They are walmart brand southwest potatoes. Super yummy!
This is our corn on the cob.
All together on the plate. Yes we went all fancy with the paper plates :-P

First day of school

Today was Enid's first day of first grade. She seemed to really enjoy it. She did say it was a really long day but that she had lots of fun.
Today was also Brandon and I's first day of school. We both already turned in our first assignments and started participating in class discussions.
Hopefully everything continues to go well for all three of us!

Thursday

This Thursday Enid will be starting school. She is going into the first grade! She is growing up so fast! I can't believe it is time for her to start going to school full time!

In addition to Enid starting school Brandon and I are going back to school as well. He will be going into graphic design to build a portfolio and then going into game art and design. Yes he will be making video games. He spends enough time with them he should get paid for it :). I will be going into the photography program. We are both doing this online at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh Online division!

We are really excited to start this journey and that we are doing it together.

Too Funny

A man came home from work and found his three children outside, still in their pajamas, playing in the mud, with empty food boxes and wrappers strewn all around the front yard.

The door of his wife's car was open, as was the front door to the house and there was no sign of the dog. Proceeding into the entry, he found an even bigger mess. A lamp had been knocked over, and the throw rug was wadded against one wall.

In the front room the TV was loudly blaring a Cartoon channel, and the family room was strewn with toys and various items of clothing.

In the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, breakfast food was spilled on the counter, the fridge door was open wide, dog food was spilled on the floor, a broken glass lay under the table, and a small pile of sand was spread by the back door.

He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of clothes, looking for his wife. He was worried she might be ill, or that something serious had happened.

He was met with a small trickle of water as it made its way out the bathroom door. As he peered inside he found wet towels, scummy soap and more toys strewn over the floor. Miles of toilet paper lay in a heap and toothpaste had been smeared over the mirror and walls.

As he rushed to the bedroom, he found his wife still curled up in the bed in her pajamas, reading a novel. She looked up at him, smiled, and asked how his day went.

He looked at her bewildered and asked, 'What happened here today?'

She again smiled and answered, 'You know every day when you come home from work and you ask me what in the world do I do all day?'

'Yes,' was his incredulous reply.

She answered, 'Well, today I didn't do it."
