Update from Brandon
As you heard from the last post, Stormy has been really busy with school and now that the fiasco of a Spring break is over, she is hitting the books again and is getting busier than ever, so I figured I'd try my hand at updating.
For those of you who don't know, a week ago, Enid hit a car while walking home from school. She looked one way, but didn't look the other and ran into the street.
She collided with the back end of the car, and broke her left leg. Luckily, that was the only injury she received, although it was a compound fracture of both bones in her leg near her ankle. She was rushed by ambulance to the nearby hospital, and the wife of the man who was driving rode with her because we were unaware.
A police officer came to the house to give us the news, and gave Stormy a ride to the scene, hoping to get there before the ambulance left. They were unable to, so he gave her a ride to the hospital.
She went into surgery later that night and got a plate on each bone and a total of 7 screws. The doctor was hoping to be able to align both bones with one plate, but was unable to, and had to go in on both sides. She has an incision about 4 in long on either side of her leg, with numerous stitches.
Due to the fact that the bone broke the skin and the wound was exposed to the elements, the risk of infection was great. Instead of getting a cast right away, she has a splint for now, until the incisions heal and we can put a cast on without worrying about infection. She was prescribed a wheelchair because there is too big of a chance she will stumble and step on her broken leg. She was in the hospital all of Wednesday and was released Thursday morning.
She is doing well and is almost back to her usual self. She had an appointment this morning and because her usual doctor is out of town taking a spring break of his own, we had temporary new one. There was a chance her stitches were to come out today, but I am glad they didn't. I did not like the new doctor at all. He seemed not to care about Enid and after cutting the gauze off, he just wrapped the new gauze around it, and then wrapped the ace bandage very uncomfortably for Enid, and she refuses to let us try to fix it. We have another appointment with her first doctor on Monday and I plan to talk to him about the way the other doctor handled it. Apparently from what my mother has heard, he has had a problem with coming to work drunk. This is the same doctor that put my little brother's cast on his arm when he broke is and my youngest sister's leg when she broke her ankle.
Enid was featured in the local paper. The link is Morning News March 22
In other news, my father in law is a book reviewer for independent authors and received comments by the author to his blog that are the perfect example of how not to respond to a low rating by one critic and at the same time ruin your writing career. You may have already seen this elsewhere, but just in case, here is the link to the blog post. BigAls BooksandPals

Catch up Christmas activities.
So we fell behind both in actually doing the activities and getting them blogged so I am making one huge catch up post.
The activities we did that will be features in this post are snow activity, watching polar express in our jammies with hot coca, snowflakes and hand wreath.

Before going out in the snow.
Our snow man! (I had a ton more of them playing in the snow but I just don't have the time or patience to put them all on blogger!)

1st of 24 Christmas Activities: Hand and Feet Reindeer
Tonight we took off the first link in our countdown to Christmas paper chain. Our activity was to make reindeer from our hands and feet. Peyton and Aidin did not want to sit still for this activity so it was kinda difficult but it was still fun.

They also did not make it easy to take the picture. It's a good thing they are so freaking cute!

Good News Reveled!
OK so there were two parts to the good news but one fell through but the other is set in stone so I will post it now. Some people already know but I tried not to tell a lot of people.
We are moving back to Blackfoot.
Why you ask? Well Brandon finished his CNA class and of course there are no CNA jobs here in Cache Valley so we will be moving on October 8th. Hopefully we have found a place by then.
